What challenges do you face during your stage of life? Our guest this week, Lisa Anderson is the director of Boundless, a ministry of Focus on the Family. Boundless has a radio show, podcast, blog, and ministry outreach to encourage young adults (those in their 20's and 30's).
50% of the adult population are single adults. There are unique challenges that singles face. Many times singles feel isolated or are treated as second-class citizens. Lisa shares her own stories that help give you excellent tips to thrive as a single. She encourages singles who want to be married to be okay with grieving their singleness, but then take steps to build community. Use your gifts to serve and take initiative to care for others. Creatively find ways to meet other single and married women. Don't hesitate to spend time with older women to learn from them. Be honest with others who may not understand your needs.
Millennials and Gen Zs have many unique challenges too: Getting into the housing market, experiencing the highest rate of mental health challenges, burnout, the comparison trap, and feelings of hopelessness. Young adult Christians have the challenge of being a minority in their beliefs and being judged by their peers. This challenge breeds authenticity and dedication in their faith.
