Constance Hastings became a Christian at a young age, but found herself fervently studying the life of Jesus to answer the many why's she had regarding her faith in Him.
As an adult, Constance wrote a book called "The Trouble With Jesus", alluding to the trouble that Jesus was born into and His supernaturally contentious life. He then overcame all trouble when He overcame death itself in His resurrection. Referencing the story of Mary and Martha having lost their beloved brother Lazarus, Constance sees the way they spoke to Jesus: as though He ought to have shown up to save Lazarus on their time and on their terms, rather than in the divine timing of of a providential God. Don't we all find ourselves in those moments? Telling Jesus how He ought to show up, rather than surrendering to how He does.
