His Heartbeat with Sue Corl

#196 Thriving Moms

Crown of Beauty International

Like many new moms, Ashley Perry Lambert experienced a difficult post-partum season after giving birth. She went from lead personal trainer at a boxing gym to stay-at-home mom seemingly overnight, and it caused a jarring shift in her routine, and her identity.

Ashley asserts that our priorities don't need to compete, i.e. house maintenance, proper nutrition, working on your marriage, taking care of your child. These priorities can harmonize. She also asserts that our callings don't need to compete either. Many women have several callings: to be a mom, to serve in ministry, to start a business, or to work in a certain industry. It's essential for new moms to consecrate themselves to the Lord, and seek strength and identity from him, rather from the external wells of validation that we may have been drawing from in previous seasons of life.
